MCR Properties is a woman owned business. Mary Gilson has been involved in real estate since the early 70's when she got her real estate license in Saratoga Springs, NY. At that time her husband and she purchased 2 rental properties and managed both of them. When they moved to California she took and passed the test for her CA real estate license. She also studied and passed the test to be an ARM ( accredited residental manager) through IREM. At that time she was a property manager for a major property management firm in the San Jose Bay area. She managed 8-10 properties with 100-200 apartments each.
In 2005 they moved back to the Syracuse area with the goal of opening their own property management business. Mary again took the test for her NY state real estate license and began studying for her Broker's license. In NY state if one wants to manage properties for more than one owner they are required to have a Broker's license or work for a Broker. In 2007 Mary passed the test for her Broker's license and the Gilsons are currently managing and investing in properties.
